Chanel 2008 Fall Collection

This collection, which is the first by Peter Philips, the new Global Creative Director for Chanel, was inspired by Mademoiselle Chanel’s legendary apartment on Rue Cambon. The colors in this collection are gorgeous shimmering tones designed to warm and flatter skin.
Buying men’s shoes is a hassle indeed. Majority appreciated diesel shoes, but a small minority would not wear anything other than nine west shoes, and then there are the jessica simpson shoes fans too.

LIPS: The lip collection expands with a selection of rich, luxurious shades. ROUGE HYDRABASE Creme Lipstick arrives in Simply Pink, a coral pink; Fantastic Plum, a deep purple; and Great Copper, a flattering bronze; while the iconic ROUGE ALLURE Luminous Satin Lip Colour introduces Enthusiast, a rich coral red. For a sheer finish, AQUALUMIÈRE Sheer Colour Lipshine SPF 15 now comes in Formentera, a beige rose, and Papeete, a sheer cranberry. A glossy finish is achieved with the cult-favorite LÈVRES SCINTILLANTES Glossimer in three new shades: Amberlight, a glossy bronze, Delight, a sheer lilac, and Gold Light, a shimmery gold. LE CRAYON LÈVRES Precision Lip Definer arrives in Pretty Pink, a flattering pink.

Just last weekend before I hit the beach, I attended the MAC Masterclass held as part of our makeup education in Lasalle College International.

And boy did I not come home empty handed, even if I’m such a mineral makeup enthusiast.

Because even if MAC still has yet to launch their mineral makeup line here, they have the best makeup brushes on earth.

Eye makeup brushes, that is.

Take a look at my mini loot!

Chanel Joins the Gold Rush

Women’s Wear Daily released a sneak peek of Chanel fall 2008 beauty color collection and I have to wonder if the recent spike in gold prices were an inspiration to Peter Phillips, the new creative director of makeup. The collection will come out in July and will be followed in October by Philips’ holiday collection. Phillips tells WWD that he choose gold because of the warm metallic colors used in Coco Chanel’s apartment on Rue Cambon.

The collection includes Gold Fiction, the nail polish for $30; Facettes D’Or, a loose powder with a golden glow for $56; Gold Light Glossimer lip gloss, $26; Rouge Hydrabase lipstick shades in copper, plum and coral for $27 each, and a quad eye shadow palette with gold, coffee, ivory and dark green eye colors for $56. In a time of economic turmoil will women want to to wear gold on their fingers and toes? Chanel is hoping the new gold nail polish is the next Vamp or Black Satin but it seems an awfully opulent color for an uncertain time.
