August 17th, 2008

The mid 1980’s saw the beginning of the punk generation of which the EMO or Emotional was a very important part. With its roots in the idea of the ‘punk’, emo came out to influence a lot of teenagers and young adults to lead their life, the emo way.
As the name suggests, the emo culture revolves around anything that is emotional and this was expressed through their music, fashion, books, writings, which were all declaration of what, they felt. They were not concerned about what others thought them to be and they were very expressive with their emotions. They did not believe in hiding their emotions and this was the mantra of the emo culture.
This culture and this lifestyle influenced a lot of boys and girls, and they sought themselves to lead a life, the emo way. Emo boys were found idolizing bands and people who put dark makeup and did a specific sort of hair styling, which later came to be known as the emo hair.
